Volunteers Roll-up Their Sleeves for the Bramble Scramble at Victoria Square

Over the weekend volunteers from the community group Friends of Victoria Square clubbed together to remove a swathe of unsightly brambles from the square.

Jon Greatrex, the Park Manager, from the Vale Council provided a vehicle to take away the bramble and also provided some tools, protective gloves and eye protection.

Volunteers brought their own tools as well.

The group cleared a dense covering of brambles on the Southside of The Square – opening up a view across the Square to the Church.

You can get involved yourselves in the next Bramble Scramble on Saturday, February 15 when the group hope to install Bird Boxes as well.
