Penarth's Summer Festival returns on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July.

Based on Penarth's famous seaside Esplanade, Saturday features the thrills of the Downhill Derby soapbox race, with plenty of entertainment, street-food, games and live music before Saturday's events are brought to a close with fireworks from the pier.

Sunday is Penarth's traditional carnival day, with a host of free activities to engage all the family, in front of a water ski championship offshore.

Last year's event attracted 20,000 over two days and this year is promised to be better than ever.

The line-up looks like this:

From July 4th - July 14th, the popular Open Air Art Exhibition returns to The Cliff Walk. It's a chance for visitors to view and perhaps purchase unique individual pieces of art. Artists will be present from 12 noon to 19.00 every day, weather permitting.
