Penarth RNLI Lifeboat Tows Vessel to Safety

RNLI Penarth launched their larger Atlantic lifeboat this afternoon at the request of Milford Haven Coastguards to assist a yacht.

The vessel, visiting the area from Portishead, had suffered engine/fuel problems having anchored a short distance from the slipway.

Everyone on board was safe and well, and allowing the very low tide at the time of the call the team delayed their launch until there was sufficient water to gain entry via the Cardiff Bay barrage gates.

We established a tow, and brought the vessel to safety with the lifeboat returning to station at 4.45pm.
