Do you want to represent the views of young people in Penarth? Do you want to make a difference in your community? Are you aged 11-18?

Then joining Penarth Youth Action may be for you!

Penarth Youth Action (PYA), the youth council for Penarth, is currently recruiting new members from local secondary schools and youth organisations.

PYA is a partnership project between the Vale Youth Service and the Penarth Town Council and has been extremely successful over the last few years in providing a platform for young people to express their views and make changes in their town. Members regularly attend Town Council meetings and are able to put their ideas and feedback direct to the council.

Being part of PYA can help young people develop a variety of skills that will help them grow in confidence, learn more about local government and gain accredited qualifications that they can present on their UCAS forms and CVs.

Recently the group has been campaigning against online bullying and is working to produce a toolkit filled with resources to help anyone experiencing difficulty during the national lockdown. Currently PYA are not able to meet in person but the group are catching up on Teams.

If you are a young person aged between 11 and 18 or work with young people in this age range, and would be interested in being involved with this project, please email Kelly at [email protected] or phone 02920 701254.
