Position: Site Services Engineer (Electrical Bias) Location: Suffolk Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience) + bonus + pension scheme + 25 days holiday + 2 volunteering days + additional benefitsThe OpportunityA leading FMCG manufacturer in Suffolk is seeking an Electrically Biased Site Services Engineer to join their site engineering team. Reporting to the Factory Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of utilities across the site. This position will suit an engineer with a strong electrical background who enjoys working across a wide range of utilities, problem solving, and driving improvements in a busy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe and reliable generation and distribution of site utilities, including steam, refrigeration, water, effluent treatment, hygienic air handling, and compressed air.
  • Deliver both planned and reactive maintenance, moving the site from reactive to preventative approaches.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and create improvement plans.
  • Coach and develop technicians within the Industrial Services team.
  • Support compliance audits and ensure all activities align with legislation and site standards.
  • Manage small-scale projects and contribute to future capital expenditure planning.
What We're Looking For
  • Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, ideally with additional mechanical skills.
  • Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving ability and structured approach to fault diagnosis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and coach others.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
