We are recruiting for an Installation Technician for a leading IT service provider based in Cardiff to deliver desktop hardware installation services in a dynamic environment. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with technology but are seeking a role that is engaging without being overly complex.Role Overview:As an Installation Technician, you'll be responsible for setting up and installing hardware for our clients, including desktops and associated peripherals. You'll have the opportunity to work with a range of equipment, ensuring smooth connectivity and functionality. This role involves:

  • Unboxing and installing desktop kits at client desks.
  • Connecting peripherals (eg, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers).
  • Managing power and network cables and ensuring proper connections.
  • Performing power-on self-tests to ensure devices are working correctly.
  • Starting automated builds and executing basic, scripted post-login configurations.
What We Need:
  • Technical Skills: You don't need to be a full-on IT expert, but you should have basic technical knowledge and an interest in working with hardware.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring installations are done to specification, without missing any steps.
  • Team Player: Collaborating with other technicians and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adaptability: Ready to work flexible shifts based on business needs.
This is a umbrella contract, the role is Inside IR35
