Communications Engineer Cardiff On-site

12 Months ContractOutside IR35 Your new company A large organisation based in Wales.Your new role The Communication Engineer provides advanced technical expertise in the design, integration, operation, and support of telemetry-based communication technologies.

Responsibilities

• Have a good working knowledge of both Legacy Dial-up and current IP-based communication technologies.
• Be responsible for providing a level of technical support to the communications technologies in your area, both at an operational asset and data centre perspective.
• Be responsible for ensuring that the implementation of all new and existing technologies meets the design requirements.
• To be responsible for the underlying comms technologies and data centre infrastructure that underpin the monitoring and control of operational assets via Regional Telemetry.
• Provide high-level technical expertise and specialist knowledge for all comms technologies and supporting infrastructure.
• Ensure security updates and system patches are maintained for all communications solutions under your responsibility.
• Provide reports on usage and availability for all comms solutions under your responsibility.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience of actively supporting Dial-up and IP-based comms solutions.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Sound grasp of network fundamentals.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills and a proven track record of working with businesses.
