Join us for an interactive session on reducing the amount of single-use plastic in our gardens!

Let's talk about plastic. We know plastic is a thing we need to use less off, but what alternatives are there? How can we reduce the amount of single use plastics in our gardens? And why should we?

We will be joined by Susannah McWilliam from Plastic Free Penarth - our local campaign working to reduce use of single-use plastics. See more about that here.

Let's explore the alternatives:

- try out making newspaper pots

- make a tin can herb pot for your windowsill

- re-use plastic to make a salad leaf tray, for an abundant crop of delicious leaves for weeks

All materials, seeds and plants included.

There will also be a chance to look around the community garden, and see what our volunteers have been up to this season.

Tea, coffee and sweet treats included - bring a reusable cup!

*Bring a folding chair or blanket with you*

All welcome - family and young people friendly event.

A minimum donation of £3 per household/family will secure your place for the event. Donations support the ongoing development of our Penarth Growing Community project locally.

This event is a collaboration between GPG projects as part of the National Lottery Community Fund supported programme 'Growing Together - Grow-along 2022/23'. See the website for more info about other events here penarthgrowingcommunity.co.uk

Toilets and parking available - although we'd prefer you to travel by walking, wheeling or public transport, if you can.

Ymunwch â ni am sesiwn ryngweithiol ar leihau faint o blastig untro sydd yn ein gerddi!

Gadewch i ni siarad am blastig. Rydyn ni'n gwybod bod plastig yn rhywbeth y mae angen i ni ddefnyddio llai ohono, ond pa ddewisiadau eraill sydd ar gael? Sut gallwn ni leihau faint o blastigau untro sydd yn ein gerddi? A pham dylen ni?

Bydd Susannah McWilliam yn ymuno â ni o Penarth Di-blastig – ein hymgyrch leol sy'n gweithio i leihau'r defnydd o blastigau untro. Gweler mwy am hynny yma.

Gadewch i ni archwilio'r dewisiadau eraill:

- rhoi cynnig ar wneud potiau papur newydd

- gwnewch bot tun perlysiau ar gyfer eich silff ffenestr

- ail-ddefnyddio plastig i wneud hambwrdd dail salad, ar gyfer cnwd toreithiog o ddail blasus am wythnosau

Mae'r holl ddeunyddiau, hadau a phlanhigion yn gynwysedig.

Bydd cyfle hefyd i edrych o gwmpas yr ardd gymunedol, a gweld beth mae ein gwirfoddolwyr wedi bod yn ei wneud y tymor hwn.

Te, coffi a danteithion melys yn gynwysedig - dewch â chwpan amldro!

*Dewch â chadair neu flanced blygu gyda chi*

Croeso i bawb - digwyddiad cyfeillgar i deuluoedd a phobl ifanc.

Bydd isafswm rhodd o £3 y cartref/teulu yn sicrhau eich lle ar gyfer y digwyddiad. Mae rhoddion yn cefnogi datblygiad parhaus ein prosiect Cymuned Tyfu Penarth yn lleol.

Mae'r digwyddiad hwn yn gydweithrediad rhwng prosiectau GPG fel rhan o raglen a gefnogir gan Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol 'Tyfu Gyda'n Gilydd - Tyfu ar y cyd 2022/23'. Gweler y wefan am ragor o wybodaeth am ddigwyddiadau eraill - penarthgrowingcommunity.co.uk

Toiledau a pharcio ar gael - er y byddai'n well gennym pe baech yn teithio ar droed, ar olwynion neu ar drafnidiaeth gyhoeddus, os gallwch.
