Join the South Wales Geologists' Association for their annual family fossil hunting day on Penarth beach, just beyond the Lifeboat Station (look for our little marquee).

Event is on Saturday 15th August 2026, between 1-4pm.

You don't need hammers or special equipment. Just bring along weather appropriate clothing, and wear sensible shoes for the rocky beach. Please bring along your own refreshments if needed.

We'll supply fossil guides and expert advice about the local geology. All ages are welcome, but is maybe not really suitable for tiny children as it is a rocky beach with many hazards.
