Get into the Christmas spirit this Wednesday with the return of local choir Spectrum Singers.

Spectrum Singers is a Penarth-based chamber choir. They are a mixed SATB (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) choir of experienced choristers from around Cardiff and the Vale numbering just 16 voices.

Llandough Community Council has successfully secured funding to build a new multi-use games area in King George V Playing Fields in partnership with Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Funding came from the Vale Council's Strong Communities Grant Fund (£45,000), Section 106 contributions from nearby developments (£20,000) and a £20,000 Place for Sport grant from Sports Wales.

The popular Christmas tree festival event attracted around 1,900 people to St Augustine's Church over the weekend of the 7th and 8th December in spite of the wet and windy weather on Sunday afternoon.

There were 49 trees on display for visitors to admire and singers and musicians who gave a varied programme over the two days.
