Wales may have missed out on a place in Halifax's 'Top 50 best places to live in the UK', but the Vale of Glamorgan, which Penarth is part of, came out on top for the country.
Wales' highest-ranking local authority didn't even make it into the top 100 with the Vale of Glamorgan placing 126th.
The Cardiff Life Awards have released their finalist list and across twenty categories six Penarth based businesses have been listed for the finals.

On a damp and dreary day, last Saturday Old Penarthians 1st XV travelled north to play Tonyrefail in their latest Specsavers Division 3 East Central (B) league fixture.
Tonyrefail were lying second in the division before the game and reinforced their position with a deserved win by 29 points to 3.
Penarth Town Council has proposed to increase its share of the council tax bill by approximately 6.5% on the 2019/2020 figure.
