The people of Penarth have rallied to raise over £1,500 to repair the damage inflicted by vandals on a Penarth Athletic Club-owned marquee.
In a social media post, club Chairman Steve Newman said he is "bowled over" by the support.

Police have cordoned off a post box after it was nearly struck by concrete falling from a first-floor lintel last night.
The concrete dislodged from the art deco building adjacent to, and owned by, the post office on Albert Road.

THE Vale of Glamorgan Council will begin installing parklets in areas of Penarth this week as part of a pilot scheme to help local businesses operate within coronavirus restrictions.
Parklets are extensions of trading space built out into existing parking bays that allow businesses to safely accommodate a greater number of customers.
PENARTH Royal National Lifeboat Institution was called to assist a 25-foot yacht with a disabled engine this morning.
The yacht was located near the North Cardiff buoy.
PENARTH hospitality businesses are set to establish "parklets" as part of their COVID recovery strategy.
The pavement extensions are designed to create outdoor dining spaces similar to the "al fresco" eateries of mainland Europe.

The Penarth Civic Society, a non-political group that "focuses on the heritage, people and future development of Penarth", has come out in opposition to the Upper Cosmeston Farm development.
In a lengthy document submitted to Nub News, the group cites environmental implications, congestion and the overcrowding of schools among its gravest concerns.
Gwyrddio Penarth Greening (GPG), a local environmental group, has commenced preparations to plant a Fruit Garden in Wordsworth Park as part of its 'Growing Community' initiative.
The group received a 'Fruit Garden Pack' from the charity Keep Wales Tidy as part of their Local Places for Nature fund.
