Local girl guide Nia Jones and explorer scout Oscar are holding a fundraising concert to help them on their way to represent Wales at next years European Jamboree in Poland.
Nia has been selected to be a part of a group of 18 guides from across Wales to go to Poland in 2020.

The annual 'Penarth in Bloom' Best Decorated Christmas Tree competition was awarded to Penarth Library at last weeks Late Night shop.
The winner's certificate and wreath were gifted by Town Mayor and competition Judge, Cllr Angela Thomas, as part of the Late-night shopping event.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council recently marked Welsh Language Rights Day with a series events at the Civic Offices.
According to data from Understanding Welsh Places, 10.8% of Penarthians speak Welsh and this day highlighted the importance of promoting the rights of those individuals.

Two Penarth based wedding venues have made it to the finals of the Welsh Wedding awards for 2020.
The Paget Rooms and Holm House have both been nominated for the South East Wales venues final.

Penarth bowls clubs is set to upgrade their facilities after the Vale of Glamorgan Council helped them secure funding.
Three Vale clubs were granted funding including: Penarth Belle Vue, Millwood and Barry Romilly bowling clubs.
The NAT Group have recently changed their bus times across the 89a and 89b services affecting residents journeys in and out of Penarth.
The bus shelters still have the old times posted around the town but they are running the bus according to the new timetable which is currently only available on their website.
The SPAR, located on Brockhill Way in Penarth, will reopen this month after being closed for just over a year.
The shop provided a vital service for residents in the area and many were frustrated to see its closure alongside the removal of post office services.
