Gwyrddio Penarth Greening (GPG) is holding an event to discuss Penarth's next steps in tackling climate change. Residents are invited to come and discuss: What can we do locally about the climate emergency?

The discussion marks the 10th anniversary of the GPG group, which began with a public meeting about how the people of Penarth could find effective ways of acting locally on environmental issues. They remain a local voluntary group who have achieved a variety of environmental targets in the past ten years; including, starting Shop Penarth and successfully achieving a Plastic-Free status for the town.

Last Sunday hundreds of people took part again in the annual Penrolio (head rolling) in Penarth to mark Hen Galan, the Old Welsh New Year and welcomed multiple Mari Lwyd's to the town.

The celebrations began at 1.00 pm when the internationally celebrated artist Ifor Davies read the story of the giant Bendigeidfran from the old Mabinogion tales, and then made a ceremonial sawing of the Bendigeidfran Window frame.
