Job Title: Transport Operations Manager

Client: Leading FMCG Logistics Provider.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

Salary: £50,000- £55,000 + additional company benefits

Role Location: Oxfordshire.

Loom Talent have been exclusively appointed on a Transport Operations Manager role by a leading FMCG business, due to rapid growth at their flagship site based in the Oxfordshire area.

The role of Transport Operations Manager includes the below:

Key Responsibilities:

  • People-Centric Leadership: Lead and inspire a dedicated team of circa x100 colleagues to reach their full potential through direct managerial reports, your focus on the well-being and development of your staff will be the cornerstone of success whilst having a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold rigorous health and safety standards, fostering a culture of safety awareness throughout the Transport distribution arm of the business, accident reduction through continued training and assessment.
  • Performance Metrics: Continue to evolve the organisational approach to KPI's, whilst ensuring existing site standardisation. You will have overall responsibility of the management of the daily activity of the company's fleet policy and associated transport staff in line with legal requirements, company policy and procedures, quality standards and within budget, whilst ensuring that an effective service is provided to the customer.
  • Performance Management: Proven experience managing under / over performance, along with experience leading; Probation reviews, return to works, PDP's, Annual Reviews and Disciplinary's.
  • TMS Expertise: Utilise your experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Business Systems to drive operational efficiency.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the seamless flow of goods from the warehouse to the end customer.

Key Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate for the Transport Operations Manager role will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Have a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background - Essential.
  • Hold a Transport Management CPC - Essential
  • Have experience working within a FMCG background - Advantageous.
  • Have a minimum of 5+ year's experience at a Transport Manager / Transport Operations Manager Level - Essential.
  • Have managed teams beyond 100+ employees / drivers through direct managerial reports - Essential.
  • Exceptional people management and leadership skills - Essential.
  • An understanding of Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Methodology - Advantageous.
  • A working knowledge of TMS systems - Essential.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities - Essential.
  • Commutable to Oxfordshire, for 5 days per week - Essential.

Salary & Benefits Package:

  • Salary - £50,000 to £55,000.
