Mechanical Fitter
Annual
- Assist with mechanical and electrical assembly of precision measurement machines, jigs and fixtures, following detailed engineering drawings and work instructions
- Perform basic panel wiring and cable routing tasks, labelling connections clearly and testing continuity under the guidance of senior fitters and wiremen.
- Help assemble and plumb simple pneumatic sub systems, referring to pneumatic schematics and reporting any issues for troubleshooting
- Use first principle tools such as dial test indicators (DTIs) and gauge blocks to verify that parts meet geometric tolerances, escalating discrepancies to experienced team members
- Maintain a clean, safe and well organised workspace and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary build team to keep projects on schedule
- Must have lvl 3 qualification in engineering/time served or working towards completion of HNC (funding is available to help complete this if in final year)
- Ability to work across both mechanical and electrical assembly in an engineering manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings with the ability to carry out hands on engineering duties
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly engineer, Production Engineer and/or Manufacturing Engineer (desirable)
- Driving License (ideally) or local to the area
