Role: Lead Electrical Project Engineer Location: Aberdeenshire, Scotland Salary: Competitive with benefits

Turner Lovell are recruiting for an established M&E contractor, operating across Europe on various HV energy infrastructure & data centre projects, on both the design and construction phases. We're seeking a Lead Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of major power and renewable energy projects. This role involves overseeing technical aspects from design through to commissioning, with a strong focus on HV electrical systems. You'll work across multiple teams and disciplines, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery across all project phases: design, construction, commissioning, and energisation.
  • Prepare and review electrical design drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and design consultants on technical and commercial matters.
  • Manage procurement processes, including requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Oversee quality control, inspections, and snagging.
  • Support project scheduling, material take-offs, and tender documentation.
  • Assist with commissioning and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in engineering design or project management for industrial installations.
  • Strong understanding of HV/MV systems and resilience planning.
  • Experience with energy management and automated control systems.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and MS Project; familiarity with electrical design standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
