Your new company You will be joining a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation based in Cardiff. Operating within a fast-paced operational environment, the business has built a strong reputation within its sector and continues to invest in both its people and processes.Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join the finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting operational decision-making and driving continuous improvement across the business.Your new role Reporting into senior finance leadership, this is a broad and commercially focused Management Accountant position offering exposure to both financial and operational performance.You will be responsible for producing management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, maintaining strong financial controls and providing insight to support business decision-making.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Posting journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting
  • Investigation and explanation of financial variances
  • Fixed asset and leasing accounting
  • Cashflow forecasting and analysis
  • Supporting annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Assisting with group reporting requirements
  • Preparation of management information and KPI reporting
  • Supporting external audit processes
  • Working closely with operational teams to improve financial performance
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements across the finance function
  • Providing support and guidance to junior finance team members

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant position
  • Experience producing full monthly management accounts
  • Strong month-end accounting knowledge
  • Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Excellent balance sheet reconciliation skills
  • Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
  • Ability to analyse financial data and explain variances
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach

  • Qualified Accountants
  • Qualified by Experience (QBE) professionals

Desirable

  • Manufacturing or engineering sector experience
  • Exposure to fixed assets and leasing accounting
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Experience supporting audits and group reporting
