Today, the coronavirus lockdown restrictions eased once again in Penarth as outdoor dining and drinking facilities have been allowed to reopen, along with hairdressers and barbers.

We took a walk around the town and it was great to see businesses up and running again with all the social distancing measures in place.

Hairdressers and Barbers were ready and raring to go with hair being snipped professionally for the first time since March. The staff and customers looked pleased and relieved for the return of the businesses to Penarth.

There is definitely much more of a buzz around the town as lockdown has eased further but residents are still cautious and local businesses are going to great lengths to ensure that customers feel safe and welcome again.

As Karen from Umpa Lumpa discussed in her interview last week: ''It's going to take a long time to build confidence to get people to return to the high street."

Many have decided to continue with services that were popular during the lockdown. There will still be takeaways and deliveries available from a variety of businesses as they continue to operate in these strange times.

We have listed Penarth venues that have announced they will be offering a dine outside service below:

• Gin 64 - Limited outdoor seating available (first come first serve)

• Coffee #1 - Limited outdoor seating available

• Ocho Lounge - Limited outdoor seating (no-booking) and takeaways to continue
  • Foxy's Deli - Limited outdoor seating available
• The Old Custom House - El Puerto Terrace Dining to reopen but takeaways will continue

• Coffi Co - Rooftop Terrace on first come first serve basis. Delivery and takeaway are still available.

• Willmore's - First Come First Serve Outdoor Dining. Takeaway still available

• Cefn Mably - Garden Open - Booking Available

  • The Railway - Garden Open - Booking Available

• The Galley - Opening seating in their car park and outdoor area (no-bookings)

  • Pickford's Galley and Bar - Outdoor dining area open Wednesday to Sunday
  • ETC Penarth - Opening for cocktails (Thursday - Sunday)
• Crafty Devil - (Wednesday 15th of July)

Now, more than ever, it is important to support local businesses and help them as they return to a very different way of running.
