Ducklings Take Centre Stage Outside Holby City Set

Five little ducklings stole the show after their 'casualty' outside a TV hospital drama set.

The ducklings caused a scene when they were spotted two-foot down a drain outside the set of Casualty/Holby City at the BBC Cymru Wales, Roath Lock Studios on Sunday night.

RSPCA inspector Izzi Hignell received the call to her surprise and attended the location to bring the ducklings to safety.

Izzi said: "They were stuck down a drain that was actually on the set of the TV show and had been first noticed by someone at 8.30pm.

''The drain was just in front of the hospital building – I couldn't believe it! It was very strange to be there, as I could see the Holby City sign and the ambulances.

"Unfortunately, the mother was not around so they've been taken into our care.

''Following a vet check up they were found to be of good health and have now been taken to a wildlife centre."

The ducklings have been affectionately nicknamed after characters from the hit BBC TV shows, Charlie, Connie, Dominic, Fletch and Lofty.

"I'm so pleased that we've been able to rescue these little ducks who are simply adorable," said Izzi.

"When they are older and ready they will be released back into the wild. Let's hope they don't cause any more drama down the line!"
