Bollards and an Extra Pedestrian Crossing for Penarth Town

Bollards have replaced the temporary cones along streets in Penarth to stop cars parking in these spaces and increase the area for pedestrians to walk on in the town centre.
The Vale Council have also added an additional pedestrian crossing between Wasons and Sainsbury's to help with the one-way system that has caused some confusion among residents.
Pictured above are examples of the new systems along Windsor Road and Glebe Street but they also continue onto Stanwell Road.
The one-way system and social distancing measures have been met with some resistance locally, with visitors moving cones and businesses expressing their concerns about the impact on customer footfall.
However, the council have pressed ahead and many have also said that pedestrianisation in the town is a useful tool during the coronavirus pandemic.
