The Penarth RNLI had a very busy weekend with three separate callouts and today continued that trend with a callout to a yacht in potential difficulty.

Andy Berry, a spokesperson for the RNLI, said: "Our D class lifeboat was launched this evening soon after 6 pm to carry out checks on a vessel.

"A yacht has been moored between the Pier and Lavernock point for a number of days, and there was concern for anyone on board.

"After a quick welfare check, we confirmed there were two people on board, all safe and well, and that the yacht would be heading to Portishead soon.

"A very quick call for our volunteers, but we are happy to help and pleased to provide reassurance that all is well onboard."
